What’s in a name?

Since my submission to my DVR I’ve found myself watching less actual TV. However, my inner geek often lets out and I end up watching some horrific movie or show meant for very few eyes. I recently rekindled my love of bad TV when I found myself watching an old VHS (remember those) I recorded back in 2000 full of the Sci-Fi channel. I watch some weird lake monster movie, with awesome 90′s outfits and hair, and a show I adored at the time called Exposure.
This made me fondly remember the days of old where I would sink in my chair and absorb 3+ hours of Sci-Fi in one sitting, commercials and all. Those days are gone now for many reasons, but the one that disgusts me the most is the networks recent decision to change their name from SciFi to Syfy. It’s a stupid move IMO, though I admit I haven’t watched the channel in months.

Fortune lists the most profitable companies in the world. Guess how many of the top 5 are oil companies. Do you think Microsoft (Micro$oft to those haters out there) makes the top 5?
Makes me want to pull out my mame.
