Wii Smash Cosplay

I’m fascinated by the concept of transposing cartoons into reality or people into cartoons. Geeks play a strong role in making these ideas come to life. I think this is one of the best pictures I’ve seen. It’s Mario from Smash Brothers Brawl.

GeekGasm: Jason Rohrer Talks Games with Chris Crawford

If you like independent video games at all then this is sure to interest you.

“Quite the unlikely pair: Franco-German TV arts and culture channel Arte selected two of the most important videogame personalities of different generations and brought them together for their latest edition of the feature Durch die Nacht mit (Into the Night with). Jason Rohrer, the young game designer who is best known for his work in games such as PASSAGE and BETWEEN meets Chris Crawford, one of the worlds foremost authorities on the subject of video game design.”

What’s in a name?

Since my submission to my DVR I’ve found myself watching less actual TV. However, my inner geek often lets out and I end up watching some horrific movie or show meant for very few eyes. I recently rekindled my love of bad TV when I found myself watching an old VHS (remember those) I recorded back in 2000 full of the Sci-Fi channel. I watch some weird lake monster movie, with awesome 90′s outfits and hair, and a show I adored at the time called Exposure.

This made me fondly remember the days of old where I would sink in my chair and absorb 3+ hours of Sci-Fi in one sitting, commercials and all. Those days are gone now for many reasons, but the one that disgusts me the most is the networks recent decision to change their name from SciFi to Syfy. It’s a stupid move IMO, though I admit I haven’t watched the channel in months.

You think this is funny?

Where have I been that I would not have seen these many great re-edits of Star Trek the Next Generation. This one is only the tip of the ice berg. TNG edit 26 – “you think this is funny?”

What is a Walkman?

I’ve often thought what my 6 year old would do with a walkman. Here’s your chance to see what a 13-year old would say, and brilliantly contrasting it against today’s iPods. Courtesy BBC news.
